[en] This paper is a result of a several years long Cupertino between High Voltage Lab. at the University of Skopje and Hydro Power Plant Globochica. In one part, the mutual co-operation was consisted of periodical monitoring of the generators' high voltage insulation. During the whole period from 1992 till 1998 the partial discharge level of the first machine was steeply raising. this led to a conclusion that something wrong is developing in the machine's stator. To lessen the risk of sudden breakdown, the rotor was removed during the major reconstruction of the generator in 1998. The cause of the problem was found during the inspection. This may be a good experience for power plant operators and maintenance engineers. (Original)
