AbstractAbstract
[en] Construction of Tsuruga Power Station Unit No.3 and No.4 was planned to contribute to further development of light water reactor technology, together with measuring future power demand and supply and global environmental problem along national energy policy, and was included to basic program on electric resources development in Japan on August, 2002. These units are the first and the second machines of advanced pressurized water reactors (APWR) reflected results on improved standardization plan of LWRs and intending to upgrade their safety and reliability. And, by adopting various devices so as to consider nature and peripheral scenes, it is planned to position the power station friendly considering natural environment. (G.K.)
