[en] Hitherto, countermeasure of radioactive wastes in Japan was carried out at a center of wastes in nuclear power stations, which has been actually carried out at the Low Level Radioactive Wastes Disposal Center of the Japan Nuclear Fuel Ltd. On the other hand, as they are smaller amounts on comparison with the wastes in power stations, uranium wastes, wastes containing TRU nuclides, and wastes of RI and at laboratories also surely increase their amounts, and practice of countermeasure on these wastes requires for further efforts of their relatives. Among them, main generators of uranium wastes are fuels processors, the Japan Nuclear Fuel Ltd., and the Japan Nuclear Fuel Cycle Development Institute, and technical investigations towards practice of their countermeasure are also required to advance under their cooperation in future. And, for realization of their clearance and disposal, it is, of course, essential to obtain understandings of society, therefor positive information transmission towards society is essential. (G.K.)
