AbstractAbstract
[en] The present state and future of research and development of fuel for nuclear transmutation of long lived nuclide in the high level radioactive waste and its reprocessing are reported. A hierarchical nuclear fuel cycle is presented. The main elements of fuel are minor actinides without uranium. Nitrogen compounds are proposed for the first candidate of the fuel. The fuel was prepared by heating the mixture of UN, PuN and NpN. AmN and (Cm,Pu)N are prepared, too. The thermal properties and behavior of U-Np-Pu series were studied. Irradiation test of (U0.8Pu0.2)N fuel pellet proved good controlling until 5.5% fuel specific burnup. A high temperature chemical reprocessing system (dry reprocessing), fused salt electrolysis, is proposed for the reprocessing of minor actinides nitrogen compound fuel. The basic data of electrode reaction of UN, PuN, NpN and (U,Pu)N are collected. The dissolution test of DyN showed 100% N in DyN was released as N2. (S.Y.)
