[en] Since 1951, the Department of Thermal Power Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava, has trained 1 442 contractors, project managers, operators and researchers in the area of conventional, nuclear, industrial and municipal power. The article focuses on: (i) teaching courses in nuclear energy since 1967; (ii) the department's cooperation with other faculties; (iii) results of research projects in the field of nuclear power; and (iv) employment found and positions assumed by graduates from the Department of Thermal Power Engineering.
