AbstractAbstract
[en] The RICH system of the HERA-B experiment at DESY consists of a 100 m3 gaseous C4F10 radiator, a large split spherical mirror and two focal planes. 2240 two-lens telescopes map a detection area of 2.9 m2 onto an array of 2240 Hamamatsu multi-anode photomultipliers. For the system, which contains about 27 000 channels, we expect 34 ±2 detected photons for a β = 1 particle. This will allow pion/kaon separation in the momentum range 5 < p < 80 GeV/c and will be vital for B tagging via the charge of high momentum kaons
