AbstractAbstract
[en] A short summary of the main results obtained for the scintillator of the Borexino detector is presented. The fluor radiative transport and the solvent elastic scattering are the dominant light interaction mechanisms. Clear evidence for this is provided by the experimental data obtained with the Borexino prototype (CTF). The possibility to control the relative amount of fluorescence light and Cerenkov light in the Borexino buffer region is discussed. The validity of the most part of the results is not limited to the Borexino scintillator but is general being related to typical features of organic liquid scintillators
