AbstractAbstract
[en] In order to understand the crack initiation from blunt notches and subsequent crack growth, under cyclic fatigue loads, an international round-robin benchmark exercise has been coordinated by CEA, Saclay, France, under the auspices of, organisation for economic cooperation and development - nuclear energy agency (OECD-NEA). Bhabha atomic research centre (BARC), Mumbai, India, is one of the participant in this round-robin benchmark exercise. The test was conducted by CEA whereas BARC was involved in analytical studies. The study involves the fatigue analysis of a pipe, with axi-symmetric blunt notch, subjected to four point cyclic global bending moment. The aim is to estimate the crack initiation and growth under this cyclic load. (orig.)
