[en] An analysis of the achievements reached by Ecopetrol, during the 2000 is made where it was a year of positive results. Several facts as exploration and production ratify this way it; the discovery of Guando, the year record in signature of association contracts, the assignment of more than 50% of the oil potential of the blocks, the entrance to Colombia of thirteen new companies and the signature of the international agreement with Petrobras to advance combined projects. These achievements put of present that Colombia continues effective in the world oil panorama and they allow to see the competitive advantages that it offers the country in contractual matter, economic stability, respect for the agreements and exploration in the basins
