[en] The synthesis of important materials - organoclays (OC) - usually requires different smectites. These clays in Latvia are seldom, and occur only in Triassic deposits in Kurzeme, near Vadakste, Pampali, Zana and Jaunauce. The aim of this study was to extend our previous work - to use the different Latvian smectitic clays, various organic cations and different ion loading degrees during the ion exchange procedure, aiming to find out some approaches for further applied studies on Latvian Triassic clays
