AbstractAbstract
[en] Preparation And Stability Studies Of Renium-186-EDTMP. 99mTc phosphonates are widely used as a bone imaging agent and their rhenium analog 186Re phosphonates are now well established as a therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals for palliation of pain due to bone metastases. As part of our development program on rhenium radiopharmaceuticals at the Center for Development of Radioisotopes and Radiopharmaceuticals-BATAN, labeling of EDTMP (ethylenediamine-N,N,N',N'-tetrakis (methylenephosphonic acid) with 186Re was carried out and its high radiochemical purity was quite stable over 8 days at room temperature. Rhenium-186 was prepared by irradiation of high enriched 185Re (97%) metal at a neutron flux of 3,7 x 10.13 n/cm12/s for five days and processed after a cooling period of four days. A complex of 186Re-EDTMP with radiochemical purity of 90% could be prepared by varying the reaction condition, such as pH and amount of EDTMP and Sn2+. A complex with addition of ascorbic acid retains its high radiochemical purity up to 4 days when stored at room temperature
