AbstractAbstract
[en] Experiment to observe characteristics of thermoluminescence (TL) and photo transfer thermoluminescence (PTTL) of silicon dioxide (SiO2) for high gamma dosimeter in radiation accident has been carried out. There are two parameters of TL and PTTL that should be identify in the use of dosimeter, I.e. : sensitivity of dosimeter to radiation dose and dosemeter response. From the experiments it was obtained the value of dosimeter sensitivity, S (0.049 ± 0.006) Nc.mg-1.kGy-1if the measurements was carried out by TL phenomena. Correlation of radiation dose to TL response was quite linear from dose of 10 to 100 kGy, with its correlation coefficient, r=0.96. Sensitivity of dosimeter to gamma radiation, S= (0.009 ± 0.001) nC.mg -1.kGy -1 if the measurements was carried out by PTTL phenomena. Correlation of radiation dose to PTTL response was quite linear from dose of 10 to 100 kGy, with its correlation coefficient, r = 0.98. SiO2 powder can be used as dosemeter for high gamma dose in case of radiation accident, using both TL and PTTL phenomena. In case accident involve tens of kGy radiation dose, measurement can be carried out using TL phenomena.For higher dose, measurements can be carried out using PTTL phenomena.
