[en] In the framework of the seventh Information Exchange Meeting on Actinide and fission product partitioning and transmutation, this document presents the summaries of the papers presented during the technical session 6 on ''Transmutation systems: design and safety''. Most papers are related to reactors at conceptual or preliminary design stage in critical or subcritical configuration, intended to fission actinides and to transmute long-lived fission products. Safety of accelerator-driven systems has also been largely dealt with in several papers. (A.L.B.)
