AbstractAbstract
[en] The Supercritical Water Cooled Reactor (SCR) concept is a high temperature, high-pressure water-cooled reactor that operates above the thermodynamic critical point of water. It is considered one of the most promising innovative reactors, the only water-cooled reactor selected in Generation IV Program. The SCR has the potential for significant advantages compared to state-of-the-art LWRs due to significant increases in thermal efficiency, lower coolant mass flow rate per unit core thermal power, and a simpler plant system. Extensive research and development efforts are conducted on thermal hydraulics of supercritical water to optimize the thermal design. (author)
