AbstractAbstract
[en] Full text: Most frequently used at present methods of dose reconstruction include estimations, methods of bio-dosimetry, thermo-luminescence dosimetry and electronic paramagnetic resonance. Lately several independent attempts have been already undertaken to determine dose burden in the populations of various places near the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site. These investigations were made different scientific institutions using different methods of dose burden evaluation. It is shown, that the reconstructed external exposure doses in residents of the village of Dolon as an example. Estimation is the most frequently applied method. Possible cause of the differences in estimated doses is connected with usage of different input parameters, since the archive and published materials available today have significant gaps, and are very contradictory. The following at present physical measurements allow for filling up of data gaps and contradictions: particle size determination for detection of a biologically significant fraction using sieve method; determination of radioactive composition of particles using gamma-, alpha-, and mass-spectrometry, measurements of radioactive isotope contents in the human body using the whole body counting; dose reconstruction on the territory using thermo-luminescence dosimetry; determination of absorbed dose in the human body using the method of electronic paramagnetic resonance. Thus, more accurate retrospective dose burden estimation is possible in these populations based on historic materials, estimations and at present physical measurements, i.e. on complex research approaches
