AbstractAbstract
[en] Croatian industry as a part of the whole Croatian economy is facing numerous problems which often result in non-preferable trends like production decrease, export reduction and non-competitiveness. An important prerequisite for successful industrial production is a secure, quality and reliable electricity supply, which compromises acceptable and market justified prices. Passing of Energy Laws in July 2001, as well as for long time expected and announced number of sub-laws, will create an environment for a successful energy market, which is of crucial interest for the Croatian industry as a whole. As particularly important issues for industrial energy consumers in Croatia to be emphasised are: tariff system and status of eligible customer. This paper deals with an analysis of the above mentioned issues conducted within the Industry and Technology Department of the Croatian Chamber of Economy, results of recently conducted surveys in Croatian industry, experiences, suggestions and problems from industrial producers and concludes with a proposal for more direct dialogue between energy and industrial sectors in Croatia.(author)
