[en] It is important to note that an effective means to assure the reliability and security for the nuclear power plant is to detect and diagnose the faults (failures) as soon and as accurately as possible. The objective of the project is to develop model-based fault detection and diagnosis algorithm for the pressurized water reactor and evaluate the performance of the developed algorithm. The scope of the work can be classified into two categories. The one is state-space model-based FDD algorithm based on the interacting multiple model (IMM) algorithm. The other is input-output model-based FDD algorithm based on the ART neural network. Extensive computer simulations are carried out to evaluate the performance in terms of speed and accuracy
