AbstractAbstract
[en] The comprehensive plant-wide radiation monitoring concept combines radiation measurement of processes and systems in the plant, online environmental measurements and personal doses in order to allow the assessment of the activity transport and to plan event-related job doses. The plant wide radiation monitoring system 'PW-RMS' consists of a network of radiation monitors and their auxiliary measurements inside the buildings of the plant, at points of release to the environment and in the vicinity of the plant. Data are transmitted to the central radiological computer system 'CRCS' with its radiological assessment features. CRCS is of a modular design and if necessary can be enlarged and modified according to the plant-related performance profile. The system is the result of a long time development based on the experience with Radiation Monitoring Systems 'RMS' in power plants and in the environment and with the Radiological Computer Systems CRCS, installed in nuclear facility and authorities as well. RM-Systems with basic functions of CRCS are running in German NPPs since a long time. CRCS, provided with process data from the plant and its environment are operating successfully in several networks in federal German countries and in Switzerland. A plant- wide radiation monitoring system based on a combination of Russian and German measuring units and with CRCS is in operation in a Slovak nuclear power plant since 2002/2003. The new plant Olkiluoto 3 in Finland, which is currently to be designed, will be equipped with a plant- wide radiation monitoring system and a CRCS. (authors)
