AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper presents the scope and technical aspects of the Local Area Network Plant Analyzer Computer (LANPAC) hardware and software design. This simulation environment is an adaptation to a local area network (LAN) workstation setting of the highly advanced real-time operator training simulator software used by Arizona Public Service Company (APS). Over the last decade, training simulator models have evolved to a level comparable to best-estimate engineering models. The paper addresses some of the state- of-the-art achievements in model software fidelity that allow LANPAC to compete as an engineering analysis tool. Examples of LANPAC simulation related to APS's SCRAM Reduction program are presented. (author)
