[en] The source part of Electric system (ES) of the Slovakia has very advantageous composition of electricity generation. Its main task is to preserve continuously the balance between consumption and generation of electricity. To obtain this it is necessary to maintain the specific output reserve in ES, which is determined to manage the planned and mainly unforeseeable operational events in ES. After entering of the Slovakia to West European system UCTE the criteria to preserving of balanced output balance of ES SR significantly tightened. The maintenance of output retainer is the most advantageous in pumped storage power plant PVE from environmental and also from technological viewpoint. The thermal power plants are significantly less suitable. The nuclear power plants are constructed for constant and long-term operation. They supply with approximately same amount of electricity and they are unsuitable for maintenance of output retainer. (author)
