[en] In Single Photon Emission Computer Tomography (SPECT) the imaging overall quality depends mainly on data acquisition statistics, system spatial resolution, radiation attenuation by patient's body. While the first two reasons of inaccuracy have been solved with the improvement of the specificity of radiopharmaceuticals and of the technology of detection systems, the body attenuation is till now a problem specially in cardiac SPECT diagnostics where an important differential counts reduction is present. One of the most widespread solutions which have been implemented to overcome this problem consists in getting, during the scan, a transmissive image by means of radioactive source external to the patient, opposite to the detector
