AbstractAbstract
[en] This report establishes the requirements for the installation of the shut-off units in the test facility of HANARO and summarizes the important experiences through design and engineering work for the mechanical design, although including the installation and alignment of the shut-off units. It is estimated that the number of drops of shutoff rods in HANARO will reach the endurance-verified numbers before the end of the reactor life. To resolve this situation, we have a plan to prepare of a new spare unit by the performance verification test for the local product, and extend the lifetime of shutoff units installed in the reactor by performing an additional endurance test in the out-pile test facility using an existing spare unit. A 1/2-core test loop for HANARO was developed for safety and performance tests of various experimental devices and reactor components to be installed or used in the HANARO. Also various tools are under development for the effective accomplishment of the works in the reactor to occur in the future. We developed and tested a new measurement system and program for the shutoff unit drop test and analysis to apply a improved system for HANARO. This report deals with the requirements of the test facility for HANARO, the development and installation of shutoff unit made by local company, instrumentation and measurement system for drop test, electric facility, hydraulic system, air system for the shutoff unit. The technical experiences described in this report will be a good reference not only for the operation and maintenance of HANARO but also for the design of new research reactors in future
