[en] The INSINUME'2006 International Symposium In-situ Nuclear Metrology as a Tool for Radioecology was held in Kusadasi - Turkey in the course of collaborative organization undertaken by Ege University Institute of Nuclear Sciences - Turkey, Institute for Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy (INRNE), Bulgarian Academy of Science (BAS) and Institute for Radioactive Elements (IRE) - Belgium between September 6th to 8th of 2006. Outstanding participation and overall accomplishment of the first two symposiums took place in June 2002 in Fleurus - Belgium and in September 2004 in Albena - Bulgaria stimulated periodic symposium organization to provide radio ecologists, radiological monitoring system operators, scientists and engineers an opportunity to share the most recent innovations in the field, and to allow extensive information exchange on both practical experience and encountered difficulties in radiological monitoring of the environment.
