[en] Photoluminescence of the Pb1-xCdxSe polycrystalline layers activated in the presence of iodine vapor is studied. It is shown that the radiative recombination in such structures is determined by the direct band-to-band transitions and transitions to a deep level if the crystallite bulk features the graded gap. This circumstance is favorable to a significant increase in the luminescence intensity
