AbstractAbstract
[en] We studied fragmentation dynamics of N2 molecules in collisions with 2 MeV C+ ions by using a position and time sensitive multi-particle detector. It was found that the kinetic energy release (KER) of double ionization of N2 is strongly different for projectile charge-changing collisions. As an example, KER spectra of N++N+ measured in electron loss collisions are broader than those in electron capture collisions. It is concluded that the amount of internal excitation energy of transiently formed N22+ is entirely different depending on the charge-changing conditions. (author)
