[en] In this short reply to an interview with Rolf Hartl, head of the Oil Association of Switzerland, ('Oil reserves are a dynamic quantity') engineer Adrian Altenburger presents supplementary ideas and suggestions on the use of heating oil. He differentiates between stationary heating requirements and mechanical work, mentioning that more alternatives are available in the space-heating area than in transportation. The author also states that alternatives in the heating area such as heat-pump systems, are, today, available and economically attractive and notes that the 'oil-age' will not end as a result of lack of oil, but because more sustainable alternatives will offer bigger advantages
