AbstractAbstract
[en] Ultra-low intensity electron beams generated from an electron linear accelerator have been applied to the investigation of the response of the thermoluminescence (TL) sheet for irradiation. The TL image has been measured with a high-sensitivity TL imaging system developed by using a two-dimensional photon counter. The imaging system was expected to be a profile monitor for ultra-low intensity electron beams and to be a high-sensitivity electron beam monitor having a wide dynamic range. In the present work the TL images of the electron beam profile has been observed on the TL sheet irradiated with the beam. There has been the linear relation between the number of TL photons emitted from the sheet and the electron beam fluence in the fluence range over five orders of magnitude. From the results for irradiation at energies of 6 and 10 MeV the cause of the TL due to the irradiation is discussed
