AbstractAbstract
[en] Modifications to the holder of the HPA neutron personal dosemeter are proposed which make the etched surface of the dosemeter have an effective depth equivalent to 10 mm of ICRU 4-element tissue. The effect of these changes has been investigated using Monte Carlo modelling with the code MCNP5. These calculations have been used to determine the energy dependence of the reading per unit Hp(10) for the current and modified designs, with the resultant response characteristics then being folded with workplace field energy distributions to determine the success or otherwise of the proposed changes
