[en] In 1966, a mid-air collision between two US military aircraft led to four thermonuclear bombs falling close to the village of Palomares in Almeria and contaminated material was spread across the local countryside. Two years ago a programme was initiated to make a 3D radiologically map the area, and this task will be completed this year. (Author)
