AbstractAbstract
[en] This paper presents a novel wavelet synthesis approach based on scale multiplication of concordant detail bands coefficients of dyadic wavelet transform that highlights edge structure and suppresses noise in an image. The algorithm works on default threshold values for image denoising. However, to achieve optimality of edge detection, image decomposition level through wavelet transform is not unique and depends upon image resolution along with its structural parameters. Scale controls the significance of edges to be shown. High resolution images with thick edges support high level decomposition and vice versa. The paper presents a novel edge detection paradigm in which innovative wavelet synthesis of detail bands based on nearest neighborhood interpolation and wavelet scale correlation is conceived such that the reconstructed image fabricates its edge map.
