AbstractAbstract
[en] This work presents the effects of thermal radiation on a strong shock wave of variable energy propagating in a mixture of gas and small solid particles. In the blast-wave equations the heat fluxes are considered in terms of Fourier's law for conduction and the differential equation of radiative transfer in the gray-gas approximation. As for adiabatic and isothermal flow, it is assumed that the equilibrium-flow condition is maintained and the variable energy input is supplied by a driving (decelerated) piston or a surface according to a time-dependent power law. The formulation for self-similar blast waves results in a two-point boundary-value problem. This study summarizes the results of computations varying the values of the heat transfer parameter
