AbstractAbstract
[en] Rare earth molybdates are very important materials for manufacturing various devices in different fields of modern technology because of their interesting laser, fluorescence, ferroelectric and ferroelastic properties. Gd2(MoO4)3(s) exists in three crystallographic modifications (α, β, and β'). The room temperature α phase is stable up to 908 K, β phase is stable above 908 and β' phase is the meta stable β phase at room temperature. The room temperature phase is a good phosphor for solid state lighting application. In this paper the heat capacity of α phase of Gd2(MoO4)3(s) has been measured using differential scanning calorimeter
