[en] The synchrotron radiation facilities are generally comprised of electron accelerators and synchrotron radiation beamlines. The electron accelerators at SPring-8 are a 1 GeV linear accelerator of 140 m length, an 8 GeV booster synchrotron of 396 m circumference and a 8 GeV storage ring of 1436 m circumference. 49 beamlines are in operation at present while 62 can be installed at maximum. Also a small-sized storage ring New-Subaru and an X-ray free electron laser system of prototype are in operation at SPring-8. We mainly describe the radiation safety and management system which are peculiarly important for synchrotron radiation facilities. (K.Y.)
