AbstractAbstract
[en] A decision was made to carry out a major modification of the University of Illinois Mark II TRIGA reactor in order to obtain higher steady-state power levels and to increase the pulsing capabilities. The main aspects of the upgrading would be to change from aluminum clad to stainless steel clad fuel elements, a forced convective cooling system with sufficient capacity for operations to 3 MW, two pulse rods to allow reactivity insertions up to $4.60, a hexagonal grid pattern, and several new beamports
