AbstractAbstract
[en] This information pack describes the management of radioactive wastes in France (types of wastes, storage solutions), and presents the search for a storage site as an approach based on voluntary participation (search stages, site selection criteria). It indicates the project schedule, outlines the spin-off for the territory in terms of local activities, support for local projects. It specifies the origins of the different low-level and long-life wastes (graphite and radiferous wastes), their warehousing locations, and the storage concept. It describes the different characteristics of zones which would be geologically adapted to such a storage site in France. Finally, it gives a brief presentation of the ANDRA (the French national agency for radioactive waste management), and of its missions
