AbstractAbstract
[en] The investigation of the chlorination of zirconium sand in briquets formwas carried out. The purpose of this investigation was to know of the optimumtemperature of chlorination process and the time of chlorination. Thechlorination equipment completed the air heater and the absorption gas. Theparameters to investigate i a : temperature of chlorination and time ofchlorination of zirconium sand in briquets form. The procedure of thisexperiment the first zirconium sand was made briquets with given saccharoseand coke and then this material intake to the ballmill. The yield briquetsformed was heated and intake in the chlorinator apparatus. The furnace to runstart at 600 oC up to the temperature of 1000 oC. If the time enough theheating was stopped and the gas flow was stopped. The yield of thechlorination process was weigh and analysed for the Zr content with the EDTAtitration. The result of this investigation could be conclusion that theoptimum of temperature 900 oC with the yield ZrCI4 0.9779 grams and theoptimum of time chlorination 10 minutes with the yield ZrCI4 0.9779 grams.(author)
