[en] The basic regularities of drop-liquid phase formation were discussed for the case of interaction of a metal target surface and laser pulses with different power density and duration. The peculiar properties of laser erosion processes were established for application of sub-microsecond pulses with high level of power density; the main mechanism of metal drop-liquid phase formation was defined for mentioned conditions of laser acting.
