AbstractAbstract
[en] An In-core temperature monitoring system measures primary coolant temperature at each hot plenum block with Type N thermocouples (Nicrosil versus Nisil thermocouples) inserted in hot plenum blocks in order to monitor condition of a reactor core during a reactor operation. Type N thermocouples are needed to have a long lifetime with high reliability under high temperature environment of about 1000degC, because they are used in the HTTR reactor pressure vessel. Thus, it was investigated the change in their characteristics on a basis of HTTR operational and maintenance data. As a result, it was confirmed that there was no significant change in the characteristic of Type N thermocouples after having used their thermocouples for more than 12000 hours in the HTTR reactor pressure vessel. This report shows that the characteristic change of Type N thermocouples used in HTTR. (author)
