AbstractAbstract
[en] DIII-D plasma control system (D3PCS) has supported DIII-D experimental research since 1993 and has been deployed in fusion sites in Usa, U.K., China and South Korea. Several D3PCS features in the context of ITER needs have been examined. The following topics have been tackled: the division of actuator authority, the synchronous or asynchronous switching of phase sequences, the avoidance of periods after transfer in which control is relatively poor (bumps), voltage or current control of PF power supplies, hardware issues, remote participation, and modeling for control. Some D3PCS approaches look like an ITER relevant solution, while others D3PCS approaches are useful on present devices but not for ITER. This document is made of the presentation slides. (A.C.)
