AbstractAbstract
[en] Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) methods can be used for screening and non-intrusive verification of content of munitions and other inspected items (containers, tanks, pipes, etc.) during inspections at CW-related facilities and, possibly at Schedule 2 facilities. Five different types of NDE equipment are included to the list of approved inspection equipment: Neutron Induced Prompt Photons Spectroscopy-Portable Isotopic Neutron-Spectroscopy Chemical Assay System (NIPPS/ PINS), X-ray Radiography (X-ray), Hydrogen Concentration Measurement (HCM), Ultrasonic Pulse Echo (UPE), and Acoustic Resonance Spectroscopy (ARS). ARS equipment is not in the OPCW possession-final commercial version of the equipment is not ready. So, this paper was served to provide basic information about OPCW approved Nondestructive Evaluation Methods, their principles of operation, abilities and limitations within the OPCW inspection regime.
