AbstractAbstract
[en] Bayfol polycarbonate is a class of polymeric solid state nuclear track detector which has many applications in various radiation detection fields. In the present study, bayfol samples were irradiated using infrared laser pulses with energy fluencies at 0.1 and 0.2 J/cm2. The structural modifications in the laser irradiated bayfol samples have been studied as a function of energy fluence using different characterization techniques such as X-ray diffraction, FTIR spectroscopy and colour difference studies. The laser irradiation led to a more compact structure of bayfol polymer due to crosslinking. Further, the transmission of these samples in the wavelength range of 200-2500 nm was studied.
