AbstractAbstract
[en] An analysis is made to study the free convection MHD flow through porous media of a rotating Oldroyd fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate with heat and mass transfer. The flaw phenomenon has been characterized by magnetic parameter (M), rotation parameter (R), elastic parameter (α1,α2), porosity parameter (kp), Grashoff number for heat transfer (Gr), Grashoff number for mass transfer (Gc), Prandtl number (Pr) and Schmidt number (Sc.). The solution of the equations is straightforward by introducing U = u + iv and solving for U. From the discussion it is found that the effects of two discrete relaxation spectra characterizing the elastico-viscous character of the fluid are opposite to each other on two velocity components. Diffusion of heavier species and rotation reduces the primary velocity considerably. Presence of suction and porous matrix do not effect significantly. Rotation and elastic parameters develop opposite effects in generating skin friction at the porous surface. (author)
