AbstractAbstract
[en] Criticality calculations for the core configuration of the first RTP (core-0) was carried out using Monte Carlo MCNP5. Fuel elements, control rods and core structures (including graphite reflector and grid plate) has been modeled accurately to minimize errors in the input geometry. The result of this calculation was compared with operating data during RTP first criticality. Keff values obtained from the calculation (k = 1.00231) was higher than the value of operating data (k = 1.00105) with a 0.13 % difference. With this confirmation, it has been successful not only on the value of keff but also for the accuracy of input RTP core approximation, taking into account some specific geometric model. Based on this calculation it is hoped that the skills/ confidence for using MCNP in the calculation of neutrons will increased and more calculations in reactor physic can be done for further studies of RTP in future.
