AbstractAbstract
[en] On 30 November 1999, Unit 1 of the Barsebaeck Nuclear power plant was closed down due to the political decision. This was a disaster not only for all those employed at the plant but also for the Municipality of Kavlinge and the entire region. The government has given the employees five-year job security and the Municipality of Kavlinge a study showing the consequences of the closure and nothing else. The municipalities with Nuclear power plants in Sweden are quite isolated in their demands for help and compensation for the losses caused by closure of NPPs, although 80% of the Swedish population opposes premature phasing out of nuclear power
