[en] Network industries are a very sensitive issue that is perceived by every citizen and is under scrutiny of the whole society. Responsible and highly professional approach of regulator is a primary precondition for stability at the energy market and for stable development of the society. Assuring of nondiscriminatory and transparent performance in network industries as well as protection of legitimate interests of licensees and issuing licenses for operation in the network industries, assuring of stable entrepreneurial environment with the aim to achieve average economic return of investments, all are necessary conditions for the ultimate goal -stability at the energy market. Secure energy supply is a very sensitive topic in European Union these days. It is intensively perceived in Slovakia as well, as a shortage of electricity is looming in the short future. Cooperation of international institutions and application of positive experience from neighboring countries in specific conditions of the Slovak Republic can substantially contribute to the increase in efficiency and higher quality of the Regulatory office for network industries of Slovak Republic performance.
