AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper deals with the assessment of the exposure of the personnel operating tele-therapeutic irradiators Co-60 and Cs-137 from the point of view of doses due to the leakage radiation from the head when the source is in the shielded position. Some results of the measurement of radiation fields in the treatment room and at the control panel are given with the intention to map these fields in the space where operators are moving. The talk documents possibilities of the significant reduction of the total exposure of the operators provided their movement in the radiation field formed by the leaking radiation takes into account the distribution of the ambient dose equivalent rate around the irradiator. Because of a specific mechanical construction of the irradiator head and the design and configuration of the treatment room including the position of the control panel, the distribution of the radiation field shows some asymmetry which can be utilized for the optimization and thus considerable reduction of the personnel.
