AbstractAbstract
[en] The monitoring of heavy metals existence such as Pb, Cd, Fe, and Cu in hair samples from gas station worker has been carried out with atomic absorption spectrometry method. The initial preparation of sample were done by immersing them in alcohol over night, after they were dried then they were digested using the teflon bomb digester at the temperature at 150 oC for 3 hours. The content of Pb, Cd, Fe, and Cu in were determined with calibration standard curve method. The content of Pb obtained at hair samples in the range of time at < 1 year until > 20 years tend to increase. If it was correlated to the worker who has been working, there was no significant different from the worker who has been working for < 1 and 11-15 years. The content of Cd in sample obtained were under the detection limit (< 0.02 ppm). The content of Fe in sample in the range time of < 1 year until 5-9 years tend to increase and 10-14 years until > 20 years there was no significant different. While the content of Cu in sample at range time < 1 year until > 20 years showed the significant different if it was correlated to the worker who has been working. The validity of method was tested with CRM Human Hair GBW 07601 from IAEA showed that the content of Fe and Cu were in the certified range of CRM. (author)
