AbstractAbstract
[en] Sediment accumulation rate of Cirebon coastal was determined by using tracer of natural radionuclide of 210Pb, which emits gamma ray. Sediment sampling was done by using PVC pralon of 7 cm diameter. The outer part of the sediment slices were separated and the inside parts were analyzed for 210Pb. Samples were dried, weighted, counted for 2 hours (7200 seconds) by gamma ray spectrometer. Supported 210Pb was calculated to determine the excess 210Pb. Sediment deposition rate, age and year estimation and mass flux accumulated were calculated and presented as kg.m-2.y-1. Activity data of 12 - 14 cm sediment depth can not be used for mass flux determination because this layer was sandy. Faster mass flux was at 2-4 cm depth was 1.49 kg/m2 y-1 and slower at 8-10 cm depth was 0.43 kg/m2 y-1. (author)
