[en] The Agreement of 25 February 1975 between the Agency, the Government of the Principality of Monaco and the Oceanographic Institute at Monaco concerning developmental studies on the effects of radioactivity in the sea provided for the project to continue for a period of six years ending on 31 December 1980. Further Agreements of 5 February 1981, 1 June 1981, 1 July 1984 and 1 July 1985 extended the project to 30 June 1986, with the understanding that any party to the Agreement might terminate it by giving six months' notice.
