AbstractAbstract
[en] In this presentation author shows some principles of construction of new nuclear reactors. The most advanced reactor models currently on offer feature both active and passive safety systems, but in variable proportions. The proportion of active vs. passive safety systems does not provide the definitive performance metrics. The actual bottom line is found in overall consistency, proven operational performance and ease of maintenance.
